Aid to Needy Veterans - Subsistence Grant

Subsistence Aid grants may be available to cover basic costs of living expenses where illness, injury or death cause a loss or reduction of income.

To qualify for this grant, the veteran must have suffered a loss of income in the previous 12 months. The household income must be at or under 130% of the current federal poverty level guidelines for family size.  For example, for a single veteran, living alone, the maximum monthly household income is $1060.00; for a family of four it is $2167.

There is a lifetime limit on these grants. There are additional qualification requirements.

Veterans in need of this financial help should call, fax or stop in at the Veterans Service Office (Bldg 4 on the VA grounds) during normal business hours, Monday thru Friday 8am- 4:30pm.   Our office may also be contacted by calling 414 382-1727 or fax 414 382-1708.
