The Bureau of Instruction & Training (BIT) is responsible for the proper instruction and training of all members of the Fire Fighting Division along with research and development in the science of fire fighting techniques, clothing and audiovisual support for all department needs. 

Bureau personnel operate and coordinate the Mobile Communication Unit at greater alarms and other large-scale emergencies. 

The Department's Vehicle Operations office is located at the BIT.

In 1989 a "Fire Education Unit" was formed with four (4) additional fire fighters added to the staff.  The demand for fire safety programs continues to rise.  For more information on the services offered by the fire education unit, please click here  or visit the Community Relations section of this web page.
