To enhance the projects and programs of the Park System, residents with a keen interest formed several non-profit privately supported organizations. Some of these organizations support the needs of a specific park or attraction, while others promote all of the parks.
The focus of these groups is to complement the projects and programs of the County Park System – not to replace or duplicate services provided. The decision-making authority of each group is independent of County government, as is the funding of its operations.
