Senior Centers

Activities include craft lessons, discussion groups, physical fitness activities, entertainment (movies, musical presentations) cultural events, field trips, dance classes, art classes, computers, English classes for non-English speaking elderly and more.

Physical Fitness and wellness are important parts of all MCDA Senior Center programs.  Participants can find a wide variety of activities and information on such topics as heart healthy nutrition, exercise classes, tai chi and yoga, sports, ballroom, tap and even traditional Hawaiian dance! 

Five senior centers now have fitness centers equipped with strength training and aerobic exercise machines.  Students from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee staff the fitness centers on a rotating schedule to provide training on the equipment and consultation on workout routines.  Health Screening and fitness assessments are also offered. Click HERE to learn more about Senior Fitness Centers

Senior Meal Programs are offered at a majority of the centers and ethnic meals are also available at select sites.  Click HERE to learn more about Senior Nutrition Programs

Centers also sponsor a wide range of informational seminars on senior-centered subjects like changes in Medicare, safety issues, and living on a fixed income.

Participation is free to Milwaukee County residents.
