SUBSTANCE ABUSE AWARENESS &

REASONABLE SUSPICION EVALUATION

The safety and well being of employees and the public is of paramount concern to Milwaukee County. Employees may not report to work with alcohol or illegal drugs in their systems or in their possession, or be impaired by or under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during working hours, or while on work premises. As a public employer, it is also Milwaukee County's responsibility to enforce the requirements of the Omnibus Transportation Training Act of 1991 and the resulting Highway Administration regulations. An important part of the enforcement of this Countywide policy is the periodic training of management and supervisory personnel in the specifics of Milwaukee County Substance Abuse Policy. Major content areas covered in the training include:

Physical and psychological effects of depressants, stimulants and other drugs on the body;
Management and supervisory personnel in departments that require staff to possess commercial (Class C) driver's licenses

HOURS: 4.0
CLASS SIZE: Varies depending on location (department vs. Countywide)
PRESENTERS: Edward M. Rubin, Psy.D., Aurora Health Care, Health Psychology Associates
