Starting Wednesday, February 3, 2010 the City of Milwaukee’s two Self-Help stations, located at 6660 North Industrial Road and 3879 West Lincoln Avenue will be closed on Wednesdays due to budget restraints. The Self-Help Centers are used by thousands of Milwaukee households to get rid of items no longer needed or that won’t fit into their garbage carts. Many use the Self-Help Centers to avoid the $50 special pick up fee for items too large for the normal crew.
The City of Milwaukee is partnering with The American Red Cross and World Mission Ministries to collect monetary donations for humanitarian relief in Haiti. Please give what you can at American Red Cross (1-800-236-8680) or World Mission Ministries.
